our current fleet
All our vehicles are obtained via the generosity of our donors. In some cases they are purchased using the funds raised from multiple sources and in others they are from a single benefactor.
Over the years NBB has had a variety of vehicles, from different sources. As with any vehicle based service we have a constant need to maintain an efficient fleet. Vehicles are replaced as and when needed to ensure their reliability.
NBB differs from some other Blood Bike groups in that we only allow our Riders to use liveried motorcycles when on duty. However, it is quite common for Members to use their own cars when the need dictates.
Wherever possible, motorcycles will be used, due to their greater flexibility in traffic. However, there is a limit to what a bike can carry, so when there is a need for multiple boxes or when the temperature drops below the safe limits for the product, we will use cars.
Brief details of the vehicles in our current fleet and their donors are shown below.
Faith, Hope & Charity
Donor : Norfolk Freemasons
In May 2018 Norfolk Freemasons donated three motorbikes. It followed an appeal that was launched one year earlier with the aim of raising enough money to buy one new bike . Nine months later, they presented NBB with not one, but three motorcycles . Each bike cost around £15,000 and Freemasons Lodges throughout Norfolk raised the money from lodge meetings, social events, auctions and personal donations.

'Our members were keen to raise as much as possible to buy one bike and were amazed to find that we had raised enough for two".
